Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium funding is a sum of money that is given to schools by the Government to improve the attainment of disadvantaged children. The funding that is received is additional to the main school budget.
The amount of money allocated to each school depends upon the number of pupils on-roll who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or have been eligible for free school meals within the past 6 years. An amount of money is also allocated to children from service families, children who are looked after by the local authority or have been adopted from care.
Schools choose how to spend their pupil premium money.
PUPIL PREMIUM FUNDING AT GREENFIELD
'Additional funding is used effectively. Funding for pupils ... is now having a greater impact on improving outcomes for targeted pupils. Current funding is being used well to support individuals to overcome barriers to their learning through tailored support to meet their particular needs.' Ofsted Nov 2017
At Greenfield Primary School we are committed to promoting the progress and attainment of all our pupils whatever their backgrounds, but having carefully analysed the areas of school life and learning that most of our disadvantaged pupils require further support with, we decided to allocate our pupil premium funding in the following key areas, Communication & Language within the Early Years setting; supporting the progress and academic attainment of pupils and employing a Learning Mentor who can support the children and families with social, emotional and behavioural issues.
